About my historical research on Burgundy vineyard

As we draw a family tree to find our ancestors, we can do the same to find the owners who have succeeded on a plot or a set of plots since the establishment of the cadastre in the 1820s.

The establishment of the cadastre during the Napoleon period is a valuable basis for understanding the evoltion of the "Climats" in Burgundy Vineyard.

The data concerning the owners and plots on the cadastral matrices of the 19th century allow a more precise approach to the social and professional categories of the owners in the vineyard and their geographical location.

These data can be cross-checked with other sources: parish registers, revolutionary inventories, etc. You can thus know the filiation of your plots and know those who, before you, have contributed to the development of your properties.

Let's enter into some of my searches about the history of some of the most famous Climats on Burgundy vineyard.
